Annually, The Jewish Hospital brings together blood cancer survivors, transplant recipients, donors, their families, friends, and caregivers for the Partners in Hope Reunion. Iacono Productions collaborated with Mercy Health to produce an inspirational piece that set the stage for a special moment in the night’s festivities. Through the story of local firefighter Jon Frye, it highlights the ripple effect that one person’s cancer diagnosis can have on the lives of patients around the world. The awareness generated by his struggle with leukemia inspired others to join the bone marrow donor registry and give new hope to those need. Told first-hand by Jon, his family, friends, and caregivers, this piece was also a means to introduce a fellow patient to the audience, as he received a surprise first introduction to the donor who saved his life.
